By Flight: The base airport is Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose International Airport, Dumdum, Kolkata (WB). From the airport, the journey begins to experience offbeat getaways from Kolkata by road through to Asannagar. The total distance to be covered is 93 kilometres, passing through State Highway 8 and some intersections of Kalyani Expressway. 2 hours and 54 minutes are the reasonable time to reach your destination.

By Bus: There are plenty of Krishnanagar bound buses at hourly intervals plying at Esplanade, Kolkata. The distance between Kolkata to Krishnanagar is 114 kilometres through State Highway 8. It takes 3 hours to reach.

By Train: For weekend getaways from Kolkata by train. These are viz., Hazarduari Express and Bhagirathi Express. The minimum time taken by train to Krishnanagar is 2 hours minutes. The total distance covered is 100 kilometres.

Note: The road distance from Krishnanagar to Asannagar is 15 kilometres. If you opt for a train journey, get down either at Krishnagar City Junction or Majhdia railway station. Asannagar is easily accessible through local private buses, magic vans, e-rickshaws (Toto) from both the stations as well as respective bus stands.

The temperature in Asannagar is lowest during winter (December-February), minimum being 13 degree Celsius at times. You can experience the heat in summer (March-June).
